Bifocals for Contacts?

You know how there are bifocal glasses? How come they don't make bifocals for contacts?? This'll mean that for us contact-wearers, we'd have to switch to using glasses when we enter middle age. For some of you, that's fast approaching!

At first, I was thinking that for contacts, the "bottom" half-moon segment could be to correct the near-vision and the rest would be to correct the distance vision. However, since contacts move as the eyeballs move, this would be a problem. Then what about having the near-vision corrector on the entire outside rim? So, when one focuses straight, this'll correct far sightedness and when one looks down, it'll correct near-sightedness. Would this work? Maybe not.... But then again, now that there's laser surgery, even this problem of near-sightedness can be taken care of!

Can I just patent this novel idea (this IS novel, right?!) and have someone else think of the logistics of it? JUST HAND OVER THE MOOOOONEY! Hehehehe...
